About these terms

By creating an account or using Baakee you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Baakee.

Your account

Baakee has no password, email or phone number. You sign in with your Baakee ID and Recovery Key, and your phone is protected by your PIN or Face ID or fingerprint.

• Keep your Recovery Key private and in a safe place.
• We cannot reset it or open your account without it. If you lose it and are signed out, the account cannot be reopened.
• You are responsible for what happens on your account.
• If you think someone else has access, sign out of your devices and write to hello@baakee.com.

What Baakee does, and does not do

Baakee is a tool to record and plan your money. It is not a bank, lender or payment service. No money moves through Baakee, and it does not connect to your bank accounts.

Balances, Safe to spend and other figures are worked out from what you enter. If that information is missing or out of date, the figures can be wrong.

Baakee does not give financial, tax or legal advice. Decisions about your money are yours.

Your information

What you enter stays yours. You allow us to store and process it so the app can work for you, as our Privacy Policy explains.

Please enter accurate information, and don't enter anything you are not allowed to share.

Shared spaces

• Households, trips and groups are shared with the people you invite. Invite only people you trust.
• Members can see what is shared in that space. They never see your personal money.
• You are responsible for what you add to a shared space.
• When someone leaves, what they paid stays in the shared records, shown as "Former member".

Using Baakee fairly

Please do not:

• break the law or help anyone else to;
• use someone else's account, or invite links you were not given;
• probe, attack, overload or try to get around the limits of our service;
• copy or collect data from Baakee automatically.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Baakee running smoothly, but it may sometimes be unavailable, and features may change. Baakee is provided as it is.

Our responsibility

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from decisions you make using the app, mistakes in what you enter, a lost Recovery Key, or interruptions to the service.

Nothing here limits any right you have under the law that cannot be limited.

Ending your use

You can stop at any time and delete your account in Settings, under Security & Privacy.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people at risk, and we will explain why where we can.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep using Baakee after a change, you accept the new terms.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Maldives, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of the Maldives.
